DONATIONS AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT ACCORD is a registered charity. Our services are primarily in the area of marriage and family relationships. We aim to promote a better understanding of Christian Marriage and to help people initiate, sustain and enrich their marriage and family relationships. Our services are open to all, irrespective of financial circumstances, and are where appropriate provided free of charge. Current funding comes through Government grants and contributions to our counselling and education services by clients. However, the ongoing costs of running fifty-eight centres, meeting the training and development needs of our volunteers and managing the administrative expenses of a large and complex organisation presents many challenges. As a registered charity CHY 6983, you can be assured that all donations we receive will be directed in full towards the charitable objectives of ACCORD.
TAX RELIEF FOR DONATIONS MADE TO ACCORD Under the tax relief for Designated Charities Scheme ACCORD can obtain a refund on the tax paid by individuals who are taxed under the PAYE tax system. This means the value of your donation will be increased, for example if you donate at least €250 (minimum qualifying amount) in the tax year and paid at a rate of 41%, the organisation is entitled to a repayment of €181 (250/58 * 41) making your total donation €423.73. Similarly the total value of a donation if you paid tax at a rate of 20% is €312.50. The Revenue Commissioners have produced a CHY2 Certificate to fill out. This applies to individuals who are assessed for tax under PAYE. When you have filled out this certificate please send it to us at : ACCORD, Columba Centre, Maynooth, Co Kildare.
