interchurch marriage preparation |
- This is an interchurch Marriage Preparation Programme that offers you the opportunity to explore and discuss issues with our specially selected inter-church team. The course will provide time for you both to concentrate on your relationship in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere together with other engaged couples.
- Each course is presented by a married interchurch couple, two members of the clergy, (one Roman Catholic and the second representing one of the main Christian denominations) and ACCORD Facilitators.
- The course will last approximately nine hours.
PLEASE NOTE : The interchurch couple and the clergy will attend only on Friday evening.
The content of the course is as follows :-
- Living an Interchurch Marriage
- Christian Marriage and the Wedding Ceremony
- Family of Origin / Needs and Expectations
- Communication
- Conflict Resolution
- Commitment
- Fertility and Sexuality
The format of the course is as follows :
- Input from the facilitators
- Couple exercises which are private
- Group exercises and discussion
- Feedback and questions
No couple is asked to speak about their relationship in public and attendance at the complete course is important in order to derive the most benefit.
These courses are run on Friday evening from 8.00pm to 10.30pm and Saturday from 10.00am to 5.30pm. The venue is Drumcondra, Dublin.
